As we venture in to our fourth week of lock down across the country due to the current Pandemic sweeping the nation, the staff team are continuing to deliver exceptional daily care and engaging activities to all the residents. As we have had to restrict the visitors to all our care homes for safety reasons, in house activities are crucial to ensuring residents remain stimulated and the days pass by with enjoyment and laughter.
The staff decided to host a Easter party for the residents at a number of our care homes. The day was filled with chocolate treats a plenty, Easter games and also an Easter Egg hunt around the home. Leading up to Easter weekend, the Activities Team held an arts and crafts day at which residents made Easter Bonnets to ensure they looked tip top ready for their party, the Manager later gave prizes for those bonnets voted as the most creative!
The Catering Team put together a lovely buffet for everyone to enjoy and served dishes to the residents, whilst they sat back and enjoyed a little tipple of Prosecco with their Easter Eggs.
As the party started to wind down, residents sat back and listened to some of their favourite music and had a little sing-along with the staff to end the day.
As a care provider, we can’t thank the Managers and the entire staff team enough for their hard work and commitment through these difficult times, they are doing all they can to ensure residents remain upbeat and have a smile on their face everyday.
The residents and staff at Blair House are always looking for ways in which they can support their local charities, this month they chose to support Children in Need.
After some consideration, residents decided they would like to raise money by having a PJ day. The staff all took part and together they had a cosy day, drinking hot chocolate whilst watching the Children in Need show.
We have a few keen bakers within Blair House who like to be creative with their cooking! Along with the rest of the nation we are of course Bake Off enthusiasts and one of our residents was feeling inspired so decided to bake her own show stopper. It was a magnificent castle, turrets and all, I am sure you will agree it looks fantastic and we are sure it tasted just as good.
